CHRISTOPHER P. KENNEDY, AIA
Principal
As a founding Principal of UK Architects, Chris has helped to shape
the vision of the firm since its inception. After earning a Bachelor of
Architecture from the University of Notre Dame in 1981, Chris worked
with architecture firms in Maryland, Washington, DC, and Vermont
before co-founding UK Architects in 1992. He holds architectural
licenses in a total of nine states—Connecticut, the District of Columbia,
Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and
Vermont. Chris has been a member of the American Institute of
Architects since 1990.
In his more than 25 years as a practicing architect, Chris has worked
on a large variety of residential, commercial, and institutional projects.
The scope of his work runs the gamut from small residential additions
and corporate interiors to luxury high-rise condominiums, large retail
showrooms, and full-service nursing homes. Through this experience,
he has achieved a comprehensive understanding of all types of construction
technologies. As a result, Chris is able to complement his design skills
with an understanding of construction administration that is unsurpassed.
Chris served on the Hanover, New Hampshire Planning Board from
1995 to 1999, during which time he participated in the rewriting of the
Town Master Plan. This experience augmented his understanding of
the intricacies of Codes and the permitting process.
Chris and his wife, Betsy McClain, are residents of Hanover, New
Hampshire. They have 2 children, Angus and Hannah. From 2003 to 2006, Chris served as President of the Upper Valley Lightning Soccer Association and currently serves on the Board of Directors. He enjoys travel, photography, video editing,
and working on remodeling projects around his house. |
