DOUG SONSALLA RECEIVES LEED® PROFESSIONAL ACCREDITATION
Douglas J. Sonsalla, AAIA, of UK Architects, has passed the LEED Professional
Accreditation Exam. The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design
(LEED) exam is administered by the U.S. Green Building Council. LEED
accreditation distinguishes Doug as a professional with a thorough understanding
of green building practices and principles. As a LEED professional,
he has the knowledge and skills to steward the integrated design and LEED certification
process and to verify that a building is environmentally responsible, profitable,
and a healthy place to live and work.
As a project manager at UK Architects in Hanover, NH, Doug is currently involved
with the design and renovation of the Wainshal Mill in Claremont,
NH, the Kimball Union Academy Student Center in Meriden, NH, and
a private residence. UK Architects' clients will benefit from the firm's
ongoing commitment to green and sustainable design practices.
Doug graduated from the University of Minnesota with a master of architecture
(M. Arch.) degree. He lives in West Fairlee, Vermont with his wife,
Rebecca, and daughter, Elisia. Doug currently serves on the West Fairlee
Select Board, the West Fairlee Historical Society, and the West Fairlee Congregational
Church Building Committee.
