THE UPPER VALLEY HAVEN – WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, VERMONT

UK Architects designed this 13,000 SF facility to replace an existing, inadequate facility for the Upper Valley Haven. The Haven provides food, clothing, and shelter to families who lack such basic necessities. The new facility efficiently organizes space for distributing food and clothing to individuals, holding classes in basic life skills, providing resources and reading material in a small library, offering baby-sitting in a structured and safe setting, and providing temporary living space for eight families. The project also incorporated an existing single family residence on an adjacent lot for use as a "host family" residence.
